Tooth Extraction

Tooth extraction is the removal of a tooth that cannot be saved or is causing problems, carried out under local anaesthetic. The clinic plans surgical and impacted cases from a 3D scan, and discusses replacement options such as an implant or bridge where a gap will be left in the smile.

An extraction may be necessary when a tooth is too badly decayed or broken to restore, has advanced gum disease, is cracked below the gum, or — in the case of wisdom teeth — is impacted, repeatedly infected or crowding the other teeth. At Idental Clinique simple extractions are performed under local anaesthetic; the area is numbed, the tooth is gently loosened and removed, and the site is cleaned and aftercare explained. A straightforward extraction is 400–600 zł, while the removal of a baby tooth is 200 zł. Wisdom teeth and other surgical cases are assessed first, often with a 3D scan to show the roots' relationship to nerves and the sinus, and are priced by difficulty: upper third molars 400–900 zł and lower third molars 500–1,100 zł, reflecting how deeply impacted the tooth is. The clinic also offers related minor surgery such as draining an abscess and root-tip resection. Clear post-operative instructions are given to support healing and reduce the chance of complications such as a dry socket. Where the lost tooth is in a visible or functional position, the dentist will discuss replacement options — including an implant, bridge or denture — so the gap can be restored if appropriate. Suitability, anaesthesia and any medical considerations, such as blood-thinning medication, are reviewed before the procedure.
