Tooth Extraction

Tooth extraction is the removal of a tooth that is too damaged, decayed or problematic to save, carried out under local anaesthetic after a careful assessment. At I-Dent a routine extraction starts from 350 zł, with surgical removal of impacted or buried teeth from 500 zł. The clinic also performs related minor oral surgery such as draining an abscess, removing a gum flap over an erupting tooth and reshaping a tight frenum.

An extraction may be needed when a tooth is too broken down or decayed to restore, is causing infection, is severely loosened by gum disease, or is impacted and unable to erupt properly — wisdom teeth being the most common example. At I-Dent every extraction is preceded by a thorough history and examination, supported by on-site panoramic or CBCT imaging where required, so the procedure can be planned and carried out safely. A straightforward extraction of a visible, accessible tooth starts from 350 zł and is performed under local anaesthetic so the patient feels pressure but not pain. Where a tooth is impacted, broken at the gum line or otherwise difficult to remove, a surgical approach is used: the gum is gently opened and the tooth removed in sections if necessary, with stitches placed to help healing. The clinic prices surgical removal of an impacted or retained tooth from 500 zł, with the most complex surgical cases in the 3,500–5,500 zł range. As part of its oral surgery the practice also carries out related minor procedures — incising and draining an abscess, removing the gum hood (operculum) over a partially erupted tooth, and frenum reshaping (frenuloplasty). After any extraction the dentist gives clear aftercare instructions to protect the healing socket and reduce the risk of complications, and can discuss replacing the missing tooth later with an implant, bridge or denture. Suitability, anaesthetic and whether a simple or surgical technique is needed are determined at examination.
