Dental Bridge (Ceramic)

A dental bridge fills the gap left by one or more missing teeth by anchoring replacement teeth to the neighbouring teeth or to implants. After preparation, a temporary bridge is fabricated in the clinic so the patient leaves with the gap restored while the permanent bridge is completed.

A fixed bridge replaces missing teeth by using the teeth on either side of a gap — or dental implants — as supports for a row of artificial teeth that is cemented permanently in place. It restores the ability to bite and chew evenly, supports the lips and cheeks, and stops adjacent teeth from drifting into the space. At I-Dent a standard ceramic bridge starts at 5,100 zł and a full all-ceramic bridge, which contains no metal for the most natural appearance, starts at 6,000 zł; where the supporting teeth are missing too, a full-ceramic bridge can be built on implants from 14,000 zł. Treatment usually spans two or more visits. The supporting teeth are prepared under local anaesthetic and an impression or digital scan is taken, after which the clinic makes a temporary bridge on the premises so the patient is not left with a visible gap during fabrication. The laboratory then constructs the permanent bridge, which is checked for fit, bite and shade before being cemented. Full-ceramic bridges suit visible areas and patients wanting metal-free work, while standard ceramic bridges are a robust choice further back in the mouth. The number of units, the condition of the supporting teeth and whether implants are the better foundation are all assessed at consultation.
