About this treatment
Prominent ears are one of the most common aesthetic concerns in children and young adults. At Klinika Leticia otoplasty is performed from age 5 (once ear cartilage has reached near-adult size) under general anaesthesia in young children, and under local anaesthesia for older children and adults as an outpatient procedure. Surgery repositions and reshapes the cartilage, setting the ear closer to the head through incisions hidden behind the ear.
Beyond classic prominent-ear correction, the clinic offers complex ear reshaping including concha bowl reduction, earlobe reduction for large earlobes, earlobe hole closure for stretched piercings and earlobe reconstruction after gauge (tunnel) stretching. Who is this for?
Children from age 5 and adults with prominent, deformed or asymmetric ears, large earlobes, stretched ear piercings or post-tunnel earlobe damage.
Preparation required
Arrange a comfortable head bandage for post-op; children should take at least 1 week off school. Adults return to work after several days.
