Fat transfer uses your own fat as the filling material, eliminating risks associated with synthetic implants. At Klinika Leticia fat is harvested by tumescent liposuction from a donor area (typically abdomen, flanks or thighs), then purified and centrifuged to concentrate viable fat cells before being injected into the target area through fine cannulas. Approximately 30% of transferred fat is reabsorbed in the first 3 months; after that, the retained fat is permanent. Applications include facial volume restoration and cheekbone enhancement, breast augmentation (alone or as a supplement to implants), Brazilian buttock lift (BBL) technique using autologous fat, hand rejuvenation, post-liposuction contour irregularity correction, and labia majora volumisation. Procedures can be performed under local anaesthesia or general anaesthesia depending on the target area and volume transferred. For buttock procedures, stomach sleeping is required for 1 week post-operatively.
