Local anaesthesia with analgosedation (adjustable twilight) allows outpatient discharge; general anaesthesia requires 1-day hospitalisation. Liposuction of the jowl and neck can be added at the time of surgery for an additional charge. Post-operatively, a compression bandage is worn; the head can be washed after 2 days; daily activities resume within several days; scar massage begins at day 14; and scars continue to improve over 6 months.
