About this treatment
Excess upper-eyelid skin can impair the visual field as well as creating a tired or heavy appearance; lower-eyelid fat prolapse and skin laxity produce under-eye bags. At Klinika Leticia blepharoplasty addresses both concerns through carefully placed incisions in the natural creases of the upper and lower lids, removing or redistributing excess skin, subcutaneous fat and lax orbicularis oculi muscle.
The procedure is performed under local anaesthesia as an outpatient and takes approximately 40 minutes; it can be performed under general anaesthesia when combined with another procedure. Post-operatively, intense cooling with gel ice pads is applied immediately; sutures are removed after 1 week; massage and scar care begin from about week 2; and the full result is visible once swelling resolves over several weeks. Who is this for?
Patients with heavy upper eyelids, under-eye bags or fat prolapses causing a tired appearance, or upper-lid skin affecting the visual field.
Preparation required
Avoid blood-thinning medications for 1 week before surgery. Bring gel ice packs or arrange to obtain them post-op; plan 1 week of rest.
