Type
Hyperbaric Oxygen
Duration
1 hour
A 70-minute hyperbaric oxygen therapy session in a single-person chamber, breathing oxygen at elevated atmospheric pressure to enhance tissue oxygenation, accelerate recovery, and support cellular repair.
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) involves breathing oxygen inside a pressurised chamber where atmospheric pressure is increased above normal sea-level pressure (1 ATA). At elevated pressure, the partial pressure of oxygen in the lungs rises, driving significantly more dissolved oxygen into the blood plasma — independent of haemoglobin binding. This hyperoxygenated plasma reaches tissues at concentrations far exceeding what normal breathing can achieve, including areas with compromised blood supply where red blood cells cannot penetrate effectively. The primary physiological mechanisms of HBOT include enhanced angiogenesis (new blood vessel formation in oxygen-deprived tissues), upregulation of stem cell mobilisation from bone marrow, reduction of inflammation through suppression of pro-inflammatory cytokines, and acceleration of collagen synthesis for wound healing. These mechanisms have established HBOT as an approved medical treatment for decompression sickness, carbon monoxide poisoning, non-healing diabetic wounds, radiation tissue damage, and certain infections. Beyond these approved indications, HBOT is increasingly used in wellness and longevity contexts. Research at Tel Aviv University (2020) demonstrated that a protocol of 60 HBOT sessions significantly increased telomere length and reduced senescent cell populations in ageing adults — two hallmarks of biological ageing. While single sessions do not replicate these outcomes, regular HBOT use supports tissue oxygenation, exercise recovery, and general cellular health through improved mitochondrial function. Holy SPA & Cafe offers HBOT at 119 PLN (approximately €28) per 70-minute session, with an introductory rate of 80 PLN (approximately €19) for first-time clients. This pricing is among the most accessible in Poland for hyperbaric therapy and substantially below Western European rates, where sessions typically cost €80-150. The single-person chamber design provides a private, comfortable experience.
