Hyperhidrosis — sweating beyond what the body needs for temperature regulation — affects roughly 1–3% of people and can be socially and professionally limiting: soaked shirts in meetings, slippery palms when shaking hands, or sweat-damaged shoes. When antiperspirants fail, BTX injection is the established, evidence-supported next step recommended in dermatological guidelines. **How it works:** Botulinum toxin blocks the release of acetylcholine, the neurotransmitter that activates the eccrine sweat glands.
