About this treatment
Streptococcus pneumoniae is the most common bacterial cause of community-acquired pneumonia and also causes meningitis, bloodstream infection and severe ear and sinus infections. Prevnar 13 is a conjugate vaccine covering thirteen of the serotypes responsible for the majority of serious disease.
