Human papillomavirus is the most common sexually transmitted infection in the world, and persistent infection with high-risk strains causes almost all cervical cancer along with a substantial share of anal, penile, vulvar, vaginal and oropharyngeal cancers. Who is this for?
Women and men who have not been vaccinated — most effective before exposure, but still worthwhile in adulthood.

Preparation required
Not given during pregnancy. Tell the nurse your age at first dose — it determines whether you need two or three. Continue cervical screening as normal; vaccination does not replace it.
