A collagen-stimulating filler (Radiesse® by Merz) made from calcium hydroxylapatite microspheres that provides immediate volume and is intended to stimulate the skin's own collagen production over time. Collagen stimulation with Radiesse® (Merz) is an injectable treatment that works in two ways: the calcium hydroxylapatite microspheres add immediate volume, and over the following weeks they are intended to stimulate the skin's own collagen production for a gradual, longer-lasting improvement. At Hautzentrum Berlin the treatment is used for contouring and volumising — nasolabial folds, marionette lines, cheek and jawline definition, and midface lifting — as well as for general rejuvenation of the face, neck, décolleté and hands. A treatment usually takes about 20–40 minutes and is performed on an outpatient basis, with minor redness or swelling that typically resolves within a few days. Initial volumising is visible immediately, while the collagen-stimulating effect continues to develop over subsequent weeks; results commonly last around twelve months, varying with the area treated and individual lifestyle factors.
