Vascular Laser (Long Pulsed Nd:YAG / DYE-VL)

Laser treatment of visible blood vessels and redness using a Long Pulsed Nd:YAG and DYE-VL platform. It targets telangiectasias (broken capillaries), the redness of rosacea, facial spider veins, cherry and spider naevi, and thread veins on the legs. The light is absorbed by the vessel and closes it without harming surrounding skin. Pricing is per area, from a single vessel to the whole face.

Vascular laser uses precisely tuned light energy that is preferentially absorbed by the haemoglobin inside unwanted blood vessels. As the vessel absorbs the energy it heats and collapses, and is then gradually cleared by the body, while the surrounding skin is left intact. HappyDERM uses a Long Pulsed Nd:YAG laser together with a DYE-VL (intense pulsed light) source, which between them can treat a wide range of vascular concerns: fine broken capillaries (telangiectasias), the diffuse redness and flushing of rosacea, facial spider veins, individual cherry or spider naevi, and larger thread and reticular veins on the legs. Treatment is delivered by a physician, with cooling and eye protection for comfort and safety; a session lasts from a few minutes for a single vessel up to around half an hour for the whole face. You may notice transient redness, warmth or a fine darkening of the treated vessels, which fades over the following days to weeks. Many smaller vessels respond after one or two sessions, while more extensive redness or leg veins usually need a short course spaced several weeks apart. Strict sun protection before and after treatment is important. The laser is suitable for adults troubled by facial redness, visible capillaries or naevi and by leg thread veins; it is not used over a suntan or certain skin conditions, and your physician confirms suitability and the right settings at consultation.
