Laser treatment of brown pigmentation — sun spots, freckles, lentigines, photodamage and café-au-lait marks — using a DYE-VL intense pulsed light source. The light is absorbed by the excess melanin, which then darkens and flakes away over the following days, evening out skin tone. Treatment can target a single spot, an area such as the cheeks or hands, or the whole face.
About this treatment
Pigmentation laser at HappyDERM uses a DYE-VL (intense pulsed light) source tuned to be absorbed by the excess melanin responsible for brown marks on the skin. The energy heats the pigment, which fragments and rises to the surface; over the following days the treated spots darken, then crust lightly and flake away, leaving more even-toned skin. Treatment is performed by a physician, with eye protection and skin cooling for comfort; a session takes a few minutes for a single spot up to around half an hour for the whole face. Immediately afterwards the area looks slightly red and the pigment appears darker — this is expected and resolves over one to two weeks as the marks shed. Some pigmentation clears in a single session, while more diffuse or stubborn discolouration needs a short course.…
