Type
Full Body Checkup
Duration
3 hours
Builds on the Blue Basic package by adding bone mineral density measurement, biological age assessment, arteriosclerosis evaluation, and gender-specific lower abdominal imaging. The Silver tier introduces cardiovascular and skeletal screening alongside the core blood work and imaging, offering a fuller picture of metabolic and structural health for adults entering their 40s or those with emerging risk factors.
The Silver Checkup at Hanshin Medipia layers additional diagnostic depth onto the Blue Basic foundation, targeting the cardiovascular and musculoskeletal systems that become increasingly important screening priorities from the mid-30s onward. Bone mineral density (BMD) testing uses dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry to measure density at the lumbar spine and hip, producing T-scores and Z-scores that classify bone status as normal, osteopenic, or osteoporotic according to World Health Organization thresholds. Early detection of low bone density is particularly valuable because bone loss is largely silent until a fracture occurs, and the window for effective intervention is widest when addressed early. The biological age assessment compares a panel of physiological markers against age-matched population data to estimate functional age versus chronological age. The evaluation draws on cardiovascular fitness metrics, metabolic markers, and organ function indicators to produce an integrated score that many patients find motivating for lifestyle adjustments. Arteriosclerosis evaluation measures pulse wave velocity and ankle-brachial index, both of which reflect arterial stiffness and peripheral vascular health. Elevated arterial stiffness is recognised as an independent risk factor for cardiovascular events, and detection at the screening stage allows for dietary, exercise, and pharmacological interventions before clinical disease manifests. Gender-specific lower abdominal imaging adds pelvic ultrasound for women (examining the uterus and ovaries) and prostate evaluation for men, screening for structural abnormalities, cysts, fibroids, and enlargement. These scans complement the upper abdominal ultrasound already included in the Blue tier. All Blue Basic components carry forward: the full blood panel, chest X-ray, ECG, thyroid testing, tumour markers, and gastric screening. A dedicated coordinator guides international patients through the expanded schedule, and the physician consultation at the end integrates findings from the additional tests into the overall health assessment.
