Full Body Checkup
Duration
2 hours
The entry-level preventive screening at Hanshin Medipia covering body composition analysis, hearing and vision tests, electrocardiogram, chest X-ray, twenty categories of blood work, urinalysis, upper abdominal ultrasound, thyroid ultrasound, thyroid function tests, gastric screening, and four tumour markers. Designed to establish a health baseline or serve as an annual checkpoint for generally healthy adults.
The Blue Basic Checkup at Hanshin Medipia provides a structured entry point into Korean-style comprehensive health screening, condensing a wide range of diagnostic tests into a single morning visit. The package reflects the Korean tradition of thorough preventive checkups, which are considerably more detailed than the typical Western annual physical. Body composition analysis opens the session, measuring height, weight, BMI, body fat percentage, and muscle mass distribution. Hearing and vision screening follows, establishing baseline sensory function. A resting 12-lead electrocardiogram evaluates cardiac rhythm, conduction intervals, and any ischaemic patterns that might warrant follow-up. The blood panel spans twenty categories: a complete blood count for anaemia and infection markers, liver enzymes (AST, ALT, GGT, alkaline phosphatase, total bilirubin), kidney function (BUN, creatinine, eGFR), a full lipid profile (total cholesterol, HDL, LDL, triglycerides), fasting glucose and HbA1c for diabetes screening, uric acid, and inflammatory markers including CRP. Hepatitis B and C serology is included, along with thyroid function tests (TSH, free T4) via both blood draw and dedicated thyroid ultrasound. Four tumour markers round out the laboratory component: AFP for liver cancer, CEA for colorectal and gastrointestinal malignancies, CA 19-9 for pancreatic and biliary tract cancers, and PSA for prostate screening in men. Urinalysis covers ten parameters including protein, glucose, occult blood, and specific gravity. Imaging includes a posteroanterior chest X-ray to evaluate lung fields and cardiac silhouette, and an upper abdominal ultrasound scanning the liver, gallbladder, pancreas, kidneys, and spleen. Gastric screening is offered as either barium swallow imaging or gastroscopy depending on patient preference. All results are compiled into a bilingual report, reviewed with the patient during a same-day consultation.
