GHC Praha provides simple and surgical tooth extractions as part of its dental services. Simple extractions involve loosening and removing a tooth that is fully erupted and accessible, performed under local anaesthetic. Surgical extractions are used for impacted teeth, broken-down roots, or teeth with complex root anatomy requiring sectioning and bone removal. Post-extraction care instructions and, where appropriate, options for tooth replacement (implant, bridge) are discussed at the appointment.

About this treatment

Tooth extraction is the removal of a tooth from its socket in the jawbone. While every effort is made to save natural teeth, extraction is necessary when a tooth is too severely damaged or decayed to restore, when there is advanced bone loss from periodontitis, when teeth are impacted, or to relieve crowding as part of an orthodontic plan.

Types of extraction at GHC Praha

Simple extraction (1,550 Kč): Used for fully erupted teeth with accessible roots. The tooth is loosened using an elevator and then removed with forceps. Under effective local anaesthesia, patients feel pressure but no pain. Healing is typically straightforward with appropriate aftercare.
