The comprehensive dental examination covers a full clinical assessment of teeth, gums, bite, and soft tissues, identifies any active decay or gum disease, and provides a treatment plan prioritising urgent concerns. For orthodontic assessment, a separate consultation at 3,200 Kč evaluates suitability for Invisalign or fixed appliances.

A thorough initial consultation is the starting point for all dental care at GHC Praha and forms the foundation for a coordinated treatment plan. The comprehensive examination covers all aspects of oral health: *Dental charting:* Each tooth is assessed for existing restorations, decay, cracks, and structural integrity. Missing teeth and spaces are noted. *Periodontal assessment:* Gum health is evaluated, including probing depths (the gap between the tooth and gum), bleeding on probing (an indicator of active inflammation), and bone levels. This identifies gingivitis or periodontitis that must be treated before any cosmetic or restorative work. *Bite and temporomandibular joint (TMJ) assessment:* The bite is evaluated for balance, and the jaw joints are checked for signs of dysfunction, clicking, or tenderness. *Oral soft tissue examination:* The lips, tongue, floor of mouth, cheeks, and palate are examined for mucosal abnormalities including lesions that may warrant referral. *Radiographic assessment (if indicated):* Bitewing X-rays detect interproximal (between teeth) decay; periapical X-rays assess root and bone status around specific teeth; panoramic X-rays provide an overview of all teeth, roots, and jaws. *Treatment planning:* The dentist prioritises findings — active disease (infection, decay, gum disease) is addressed before elective cosmetic work.
