Pigmentation spots form when melanin — the pigment that gives skin its colour — is overproduced in specific areas, usually triggered by cumulative sun exposure, the natural ageing process or hormonal changes (as in melasma). The result is sun spots, age spots and patches of uneven tone that make the complexion look tired and older. This treatment at GH Solutions targets that excess pigment directly: light energy is absorbed by the melanin in the spot, fragmenting it so the body can gradually clear it, leaving the surrounding skin unaffected and the overall tone more even and bright. After cleansing and protective eyewear, the practitioner treats each pigmented area; the spots typically darken slightly and then flake or fade over the following one to two weeks. The session is short — around fifteen to thirty minutes depending on how many areas are treated — with minimal downtime.
