Diode Laser Hair Removal (Triple Wavelength)

Type

Hair Removal

Duration

30 min

Permanent hair-reduction with a triple-wavelength diode laser (808 nm + 755 nm + 1064 nm) — the same combination found in flagship clinical platforms (Soprano Ice / Primelase). The mix of wavelengths covers superficial Alexandrite-range targets and deep Nd:YAG-range targets in a single pass, making it safe and effective across all six Fitzpatrick skin types.

Diode laser hair removal works by selective photothermolysis: laser light is absorbed by melanin in the hair follicle, converted to heat, and damages the stem cells and dermal papilla that grow new hair — without harming the surrounding skin. Gen Z Clinic's triple-wavelength platform combines: • 755 nm (Alexandrite-class) — highest melanin affinity, best for fine and lighter hairs, fast clearance on lighter skin • 808 nm (classic diode) — workhorse wavelength, balanced depth and absorption, all skin types • 1064 nm (Nd:YAG-class) — deepest penetration, lowest melanin affinity, safest for darker (Fitzpatrick IV–VI) skin and for tanned skin Delivering all three in one pulse means broader candidacy and fewer skin-type compromises than older single-wavelength alexandrite or diode systems. Protocol at Gen Z Clinic: • Shave the target area within 24 hours before your appointment (do NOT wax, pluck or epilate for 4 weeks prior — those remove the follicle that the laser needs to target) • The therapist marks the area, applies cooling gel, and operates the handpiece in continuous-motion ('in-motion') mode at low fluence with multiple passes — comfortable, no anaesthetic required • Spot-test on first visit if dark Fitzpatrick or recent sun exposure What you'll feel: warm tingle, occasionally a sharp prick on coarse follicle pockets. The handpiece's contact-cooling tip keeps the surface near room temperature. After: mild redness around follicles for 1–2 hours; treated hairs shed at 2–3 weeks ('pseudo-growth'); 4-week interval between sessions for face, 6-week for body. A typical course is 6–8 sessions for 80–95% permanent reduction; periodic top-ups thereafter for any active follicles. Contraindications: active tan, recent isotretinoin (Accutane), tattoos in the field, gold-thread implants, photosensitizing medications, pregnancy.
