Surgical excision of skin lesions performed by a doctor under local anaesthetic, suitable for moles and other changes that are better removed with a scalpel than with the laser. At Gabinet Zabiegowy PLUS excision starts from 300 zł and allows the removed tissue to be sent for laboratory examination where appropriate — an advantage over laser when a definitive diagnosis matters. The wound is closed with sutures and aftercare guidance provided.

About this treatment

Surgical removal involves cutting out a skin lesion with a scalpel under local anaesthetic and closing the resulting wound, usually with stitches. It is the preferred approach when a lesion is better excised than vaporised — for example deeper or larger moles, or any change where it is important to send the removed tissue for histopathological examination, since surgery preserves the lesion intact for the laboratory whereas laser does not.

At Gabinet Zabiegowy PLUS the lesion is first assessed at a qualifying consultation to decide whether surgical excision or another method is most appropriate and to plan the procedure. The area is numbed, the lesion removed with a margin of normal skin as needed, and the wound closed; you are given written aftercare and a date for suture removal where non-dissolvable stitches are used.
