Carbon Laser Peel (Nd:YAG)

The carbon laser peel uses a layer of carbon lotion applied to the skin which is then targeted with an Nd:YAG laser. As the laser is drawn to the carbon particles it gently exfoliates the surface, draws out impurities from the pores and warms the skin to encourage a fresher, more even complexion. It is a no-downtime treatment popular for oily or congested skin and an overall radiance boost, and can be repeated as a course.

A carbon laser peel — sometimes called a carbon facial — works in two stages. First a fine layer of liquid carbon is spread over the skin and allowed to settle into the pores. An Nd:YAG laser is then passed over the area; the light is strongly absorbed by the carbon, so as the particles are targeted they exfoliate the uppermost layer of skin and lift away absorbed oil and debris, while the laser's warmth is associated with a temporary improvement in the look of pores and overall radiance.
