Fotona Er:YAG fractional laser resurfacing at Eva Clinic treats the full spectrum of skin texture concerns — wrinkles, acne scars, age spots, uneven tone, and post-sun damage — using a dual mechanism of controlled surface ablation and deep dermal heating. The Er:YAG wavelength targets water in skin cells with high precision, vaporising damaged surface layers to a programmable depth while simultaneously heating the dermis to stimulate collagen remodelling. The result is smoother, more even skin with improved resilience. Healing takes 3–7 days, during which the skin sheds the treated layer naturally; normal activities resume within the same timeframe.
Erbium:YAG (Er:YAG) laser energy at 2940 nm is absorbed by water in tissue at a coefficient approximately 10 times greater than CO2 laser energy, producing highly precise ablation of a programmable tissue depth with minimal thermal collateral damage to surrounding structures. This selectivity is the foundation of Er:YAG's favourable safety profile compared with CO2 resurfacing — the ablation zone is clean, healing is faster, and the risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation is lower, making it suitable for a broader range of skin types. At Eva Clinic, MUDr. Chovančíková uses the Fotona SP Dynamis in both ablative and non-ablative Er:YAG modes depending on the clinical indication and the depth of correction required: **Standard resurfacing (from 10 000 Kč):** A controlled fractional ablative pass removes the damaged epidermis in microscopic treatment columns, leaving surrounding tissue intact for rapid re-epithelialisation. This approach is effective for superficial wrinkles, acne scarring at the epidermal level, mild pigmentation irregularities, and general skin textural improvement. Healing is typically 3–5 days. **Deep resurfacing (from 20 000 Kč):** A higher-fluence protocol that penetrates into the papillary dermis to address deeper acne scars, moderate wrinkles, and skin laxity. This requires post-treatment wound care (moisturising dressings) and has a 5–7 day healing period. **Scar and stretch mark treatment (from 2 000 Kč per area):** Fractional ablation is applied selectively to scarred tissue, breaking up fibrotic collagen bundles and stimulating new, normally structured collagen deposition. Multiple sessions spaced 4–6 weeks apart are typically required for significant improvement in hypertrophic or atrophic scars. Pre-treatment, a topical anaesthetic is applied for 30–45 minutes. The procedure involves a warm to mildly stinging sensation. Post-treatment, the skin appears red and feels similar to moderate sunburn; a simple moisturising protocol is prescribed. Treated skin is fragile for the first week — sun protection SPF50+ is mandatory for a minimum of 4 weeks post-treatment. Contraindications include active acne or herpes simplex in the treatment area, current isotretinoin use within the previous 12 months, autoimmune conditions affecting the skin, and pregnancy. Clients with a history of keloid scarring are assessed on a case-by-case basis.
