Esthea Medical performs permanent hair reduction with the Amicula Plus IPL system, which works on the principle of selective photothermolysis: pulsed light at the optimal 640–750 nm wavelength range is absorbed by the pigment in the hair, converted to heat, and disrupts the hair follicle so it cannot regrow. All advertised prices cover packages of three sessions — from 2,500 Kč for underarms to 12,000 Kč for full legs — with a typical full course of 3–8 sessions depending on the body area and hair characteristics. The clinic recommends treatment particularly during the winter months, when skin is untanned.
About this treatment
IPL hair removal uses intense pulsed light to permanently reduce unwanted hair. Each flash of light is absorbed by melanin in the hair shaft, converts to heat at the follicle root, and damages the structures responsible for regrowth — without harming the surrounding skin when wavelength and energy are correctly set.
The device
Amicula Plus operates in the 640–750 nm wavelength window, which the clinic highlights as optimal for hair removal — long enough to bypass surface pigment and penetrate to the follicle, yet strongly absorbed by hair melanin. Treatment works best on darker hair; very light blonde, grey or red hairs contain too little pigment to respond well.
