Botulinum toxin A injections at Esthea Medical are administered by MUDr. Kateřina Starnová, a physician with over ten years of aesthetic dermatology practice. The treatment relaxes the small facial muscles responsible for expression lines — horizontal forehead lines, the vertical glabellar '11' lines between the brows, and crow's feet around the eyes — and can also lift drooping mouth corners, smooth lines above the upper lip, and treat excessive underarm and palm sweating. The effect begins within 4–10 days of injection and typically lasts 5–6 months. Single areas cost 2,500 Kč, with combination pricing for multiple zones.
About this treatment
Botulinum toxin type A is the most widely used and most effective non-surgical treatment for dynamic (expression) wrinkles — the lines created by repeated muscle movement rather than by skin ageing itself. A purified neuromodulator is injected in small, precisely placed doses into the target muscles, temporarily reducing their contraction so the overlying skin smooths out while natural expression is preserved.

Preparation required
Avoid alcohol and blood-thinning supplements (aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil) for 24–48 hours before to reduce bruising risk. Arrive with clean skin. Inform the physician of any medications, neuromuscular conditions, pregnancy or breastfeeding.
