Vascular laser treatment at Esthé Laser Clinic uses the Candela V-Beam Perfecta — the gold-standard 595 nm pulsed-dye laser for vascular skin conditions — to selectively destroy unwanted blood vessels, broken capillaries, and vascular lesions without damaging the surrounding skin. The 595 nm wavelength is absorbed almost exclusively by oxyhaemoglobin in the blood, causing the targeted vessel wall to collapse and absorb without leaving surface trauma. The built-in Dynamic Cooling Device (DCD) sprays a burst of cryogen onto the skin milliseconds before each laser pulse, protecting the epidermis and reducing discomfort. Conditions treated include facial telangiectasia (spider veins), rosacea flushing, port wine stains, haemangiomas, cherry angiomas, facial redness from broken capillaries, and leg spider veins. One of the few Czech clinics operating the full V-Beam Perfecta system under medical oversight.
The Candela V-Beam Perfecta is a 595 nm pulsed-dye laser — the wavelength specifically selected because it sits at the absorption peak of oxyhaemoglobin. When the laser pulse enters the skin, it is preferentially absorbed by the haemoglobin in the vessel lumen rather than by water (the main absorber for longer wavelengths) or melanin (the main absorber for shorter wavelengths). This selectivity — the principle of selective photothermolysis — means the energy is deposited almost entirely within the targeted vessel wall. The vessel wall heats rapidly, the haemoglobin coagulates, the vessel collapses, and the debris is gradually cleared by the lymphatic system over the following weeks. At Esthé Laser Clinic, the V-Beam Perfecta is operated by trained medical staff under medical supervision. The system offers variable pulse durations (0.45–40 ms) and spot sizes (3–12 mm), allowing the parameters to be precisely matched to the vessel diameter and depth being treated — smaller, superficial telangiectasias require different settings than deeper, larger-calibre haemangiomas. The Dynamic Cooling Device integrated into the V-Beam Perfecta handpiece sprays a micro-burst of cryogen (R134a) onto the skin surface 20–30 ms before each laser pulse. This cools the epidermis below the threshold for thermal injury while leaving the deeper vascular target thermally accessible. The DCD is what makes the V-Beam genuinely comfortable for most patients — many describe the sensation as a brief snap of a rubber band combined with a cold spray, rather than the burning associated with older vascular lasers. Conditions treated at Esthé include: facial telangiectasia (the fine red lines visible across the nose, cheeks, and chin, often worsening with sun damage, rosacea, or ageing); diffuse facial redness and flushing associated with rosacea subtype 1; port wine stains (capillary vascular malformations present from birth — requires multiple sessions, typically starting in early childhood for best results); haemangiomas (both superficial and deeper types respond well); cherry angiomas (the small, bright-red papules that appear with age); spider naevi; and leg spider veins (small, superficial networks below the knee). The number of sessions required varies: simple telangiectasias often clear in 1–3 sessions; rosacea flushing requires maintenance therapy; port wine stains may need 10–20+ sessions over several years for meaningful lightening. At the consultation before the first session, the treating physician evaluates the lesion type, depth, and extent to give a realistic prognosis and session estimate. Post-treatment: the treated area typically shows mild purpura (purple-red bruising) for 7–14 days — this is the intended sign that the vessel has been coagulated. Makeup can cover the purpura if needed. Full clearance of the coagulated vessels takes 4–6 weeks after each session. Sun avoidance and SPF50 protection of treated areas is mandatory between sessions. Preparation: no recent significant sun exposure, tanning beds, or self-tanner in the treatment area. No blood-thinning medications 10 days before. Avoid ibuprofen and aspirin. Shave any facial hair in the treatment area if applicable. Contraindications: active sun tan, active skin infection in the area, use of photosensitising medications, pregnancy, Fitzpatrick skin types V–VI (higher melanin density increases epidermis absorption risk), blood clotting disorders.
