Extraction

Duration

Tooth extraction is the removal of a tooth that cannot be saved — because of severe decay, fracture, advanced gum disease or crowding. At Centrum Estetique extractions are performed by the surgical team under local anaesthetic, with options to plan replacement of the tooth, such as an implant, where appropriate. Simple and surgical extractions are offered, with children's milk-tooth removals priced separately. Anaesthetic is included at no extra charge.

Although saving a natural tooth is always preferred, extraction becomes necessary when a tooth is too badly decayed or broken to restore, is loose from advanced gum disease, is causing crowding, or is impacted. Removing it relieves pain and prevents infection from spreading. At Centrum Estetique extractions are carried out under local anaesthetic, which the clinic provides free of charge, and the surgical and oral-surgery team handles more complex cases. A simple extraction removes a tooth that is fully erupted and accessible, while a surgical extraction — for example a broken-down or impacted tooth — may involve a small incision and is quoted individually according to its difficulty. Children's primary (milk) teeth, when they need to be removed, are priced separately and at a lower 'from' figure. Because every tooth and situation differs, the price list gives a 'from' figure that is confirmed after examination and any necessary imaging. The dentist will also discuss aftercare to support healing and, importantly, the options for replacing the missing tooth — such as an implant, bridge or denture — since planning a replacement early helps preserve the bite and the surrounding bone. As a centre with a strong implant and prosthetic focus, the clinic can plan extraction and replacement together where that suits the patient. Suitability and the full plan are reviewed before treatment.
