Root canal treatment removes infected or inflamed tissue from inside a tooth, cleans and disinfects the canals and seals them, allowing a tooth that would otherwise be lost to be kept. At Centrum Estetique endodontics is carried out under an operating microscope for magnified visibility of the fine canal anatomy. It is used for teeth with deep decay, infection or pain, and is typically followed by a crown to protect the restored tooth.

When this tissue becomes infected or inflamed through deep decay, a crack or trauma, it can cause pain and abscesses and, untreated, lead to loss of the tooth. Root canal (endodontic) treatment removes the diseased pulp, cleans and shapes the canal system, disinfects it and seals it, so the natural tooth can be kept rather than extracted.
At Centrum Estetique endodontic treatment is performed using an operating microscope, which magnifies and illuminates the inside of the tooth so the dentist can locate and treat the fine, sometimes complex network of canals more thoroughly. Treatment is carried out under local anaesthetic. The clinic also offers a separate endodontic assessment to judge whether a compromised tooth can realistically be saved before committing to treatment, which helps set…

After the canals are sealed the tooth is often weakened and is usually best protected with a crown, which is planned and priced separately. Treated teeth can function well for many years, with outcomes depending on individual factors and good oral hygiene. Suitability and the…
