Thread Lift
Duration
1 hour
Thread lift using fine biodegradable threads inserted under the skin to mechanically lift sagging facial tissue and stimulate progressive collagen production. At Estetik Point threads are placed by a plastic surgeon via thin cannula into the subcutaneous fat layer; the physician then tensions the threads to produce an immediate lifting effect on the lower face, jawline, eye area and neck. Over the following months the threads dissolve gradually while the surrounding collagen response maintains the result. The treatment can be combined with fillers or botulinum toxin for enhanced facial rejuvenation, and it is offered as a clinically effective step before committing to surgical lifting.
Biodegradable thread lifting is a minimally invasive procedure that bridges the gap between injectable treatments and surgical facelift. Modern lifting threads — typically made of PDO (polydioxanone) or PLLA — are inserted through tiny punctures using a thin cannula. The threads feature barbs or cones that grip the subcutaneous tissue; when the physician tensions the thread from the entry point, the tissue follows and is held in a lifted position. Two mechanisms sustain the result: the mechanical lift from the threads themselves, and the progressive collagen capsule that forms around each thread as the body's healing response, which continues to provide structural support as the thread gradually dissolves over six to twelve months. At Estetik Point thread lift procedures are performed by board-certified plastic surgeons, which distinguishes the practice from clinics where threads are placed by non-physician practitioners. The session begins with a detailed assessment of the areas of laxity and a plan for thread placement. Anaesthetic cream is applied; fine cannula entry points are made and the threads are guided into position. The physician tensions each thread and trims the excess. The entire procedure takes approximately sixty minutes depending on how many threads are placed. The clinic uses both barbed lifting threads (sold in pairs) and smooth firming threads that are used to improve skin texture and hydration without mechanical lift. For the lower face and jawline, the Frame Lift protocol applies threads in a pattern that targets the nasolabial folds, jowls, jaw edge and the area from the eye corner to the hairline, using the anatomy of the facial retaining ligaments to anchor the lift. Results are visible immediately after the session; mild swelling and occasional small bruising may occur for the first week. Final results appear within four to six weeks and are maintained for one to two years. The procedure can be repeated as needed and can be combined with HA filler in the same session to address both structural support (threads) and volume loss (filler) simultaneously. Thread lift is most suited to patients with mild to moderate facial sagging; those with very significant skin laxity or ptosis may ultimately require surgical intervention.
