Mini Facelift (Minilifting) — Local Anaesthetic

A mini facelift (minilifting) that lifts and tightens the face and neck using smaller incisions than a full facelift — performed under local anaesthetic by a board-certified plastic surgeon at Estetik Point. The procedure targets the lower face and neck: jowls, nasolabial folds, facial contour, and loose neck skin. Scars are placed in front of the ears and along the temples where they become invisible as they fade and hide under the hairline. Recovery is shorter than a full facelift, and because local rather than general anaesthesia is used, the patient avoids the additional risks of sedation.

The mini facelift is a refined version of surgical facelift that uses a more limited incision pattern and targets a more defined area — primarily the lower face and jowl zone — to lift, reposition and tighten the descended soft tissues with less operative time, less bruising and faster recovery than a full SMAS facelift. It is ideally suited to patients who are beginning to develop facial laxity but do not yet have the degree of descent that requires the more extensive full procedure. The procedure begins with precise pre-operative marking of the incision pattern, which runs from the temple, curves naturally around the ear, and ends along the lower hairline at the nape. Through these incisions the surgeon elevates the skin, repositions the SMAS layer (the fibromuscular network underlying the cheeks and jowl), removes or redistributes fat deposits, and trims excess skin before suturing closed. The face and neck are gently wrapped in a supportive dressing. Post-operatively, bruising and swelling peak at days three to five and gradually resolve over two weeks. Sutures are removed at five to seven days. Most patients return to office environments at two weeks and to all activities at four to six weeks. The result — a lifted, naturally younger-looking lower face and neck with no visible scarring — is permanent in the sense that the tissue that has been repositioned does not re-descend, though the normal aging process continues.
