Mesotherapy — Mesolift (Face, Neck, Décolletage)

Type

Mesotherapy

Duration

45 min

Superficial injection of non-crosslinked hyaluronic acid — alone or combined with vitamins, amino acids and trace ions — into the middle skin layer of the face, neck, décolletage or hands to restore deep moisture, improve skin elasticity and produce a hydrated, luminous complexion. Known as Mesolift when applied to the face and neck, this treatment delivers active ingredients directly to the dermis where topical products cannot penetrate, rebuilding the skin's hydration reservoir from within over a course of sessions. At Estetické centrum Praha MUDr. Renata Handlová uses ultra-thin 30–32 gauge needles and a specialist injector for consistent, uniform product distribution.

The principle of mesotherapy is direct deposition of bioactive substances into the mesoderm — the middle skin layer between the epidermis and the subcutaneous fat — bypassing the barrier function of the stratum corneum that prevents topical products from reaching deeper tissue. At the depths used in Mesolift (2–3 mm), the active substances are placed in the superficial dermis, where fibroblasts, collagen fibres and the extracellular matrix reside. At Estetické centrum Praha MUDr. Renata Handlová uses non-crosslinked (free) hyaluronic acid as the primary active substance for Mesolift. Unlike the cross-linked HA used in volume-restoring fillers, non-crosslinked HA is immediately bioavailable and rapidly integrated into the extracellular matrix, where it binds water and creates a sustained hydration reservoir. Depending on the patient's skin condition, the HA may be combined with a cocktail of B-vitamins, ascorbic acid, coenzymes, amino acids, trace minerals and minerals that support fibroblast function and skin metabolism. These combination cocktails are often used for patients with marked dehydration, dull complexion or early photoaging. The injection technique uses 30–32 gauge ultra-thin needles, which minimise discomfort and tissue trauma. Topical anaesthetic cream can be applied twenty to thirty minutes before the procedure for patients with low pain tolerance. Product is deposited across the treatment zone using a papule technique or a linear threading approach depending on the area and indication. A full-face Mesolift covers the forehead, cheeks, perioral area, nose and chin; the neck and décolletage can be treated in the same session or separately. Hands are also a common indication — mesotherapy to the dorsal hands addresses skin laxity, dehydration and early age-spot reduction. Results become visible progressively over the course: after the first session, improved hydration and a fresh glow are typically noticeable within two to three days. Over the recommended course of two to three sessions at three-to-four-week intervals, skin elasticity and texture improve cumulatively. The effect sustains for several months, with pure HA preparations typically lasting longer than vitamin-cocktail mixtures. Side effects are minimal: small papules at the injection sites (resolving within hours), minor bruising and transient redness. No anaesthesia beyond topical cream is needed and patients can return to work immediately. Mesotherapy contraindications include pregnancy, type I diabetes, history of stroke or TIA, bleeding disorders, anticoagulant therapy (aspirin, warfarin, heparin) and — for cocktails containing phosphatidylcholine — soy or egg allergy. These are screened at consultation.
