Permanent hair reduction using the Candela GentleLASE Alexandrite laser, which targets melanin in the hair follicle to disable growth capacity while the patented DCD (Dynamic Cooling Device) system sprays a cryogen burst onto the skin at each laser pulse to protect the epidermis and minimise discomfort. The GentleLASE is a clinically established platform for light-to-medium skin tones. About this treatment
Laser hair removal operates on the principle of selective photothermolysis: the laser emits a wavelength that is preferentially absorbed by melanin — the pigment in the hair shaft and bulb — converting light energy to heat and raising the temperature of the follicle to the threshold that damages or destroys its regenerative capacity. Preparation required
Shave (do not wax, thread or pluck) the treatment area 1–2 days before. No waxing or threading for 3–4 weeks before each session. Arrive with clean, dry skin — no creams, oils or makeup on the area. Avoid sun exposure and self-tan for 4 weeks before and throughout the course.
