Skin Tightening

Plexr plasma soft surgery at Medest uses the Plexr device to generate a controlled plasma arc — ionised gas from atmospheric air — that sublimates a precise spot of skin from solid to gas without cutting, stitching, or transferring heat to surrounding tissue. The result is a non-surgical eyelid lift (blepharoplasty) that tightens overhanging upper lid skin, reduces fine periorbital wrinkles, and removes small benign skin lesions including milia, xanthelasma, and flat warts. MUDr. Vojtková performs the procedure under topical anaesthetic cream only; there are no injections, no incisions, no bruising from sutures, and no scarring.
Plasma technology in aesthetic medicine exploits the fourth state of matter — plasma — which forms when a spark of voltage ionises atmospheric nitrogen just above the skin surface. The Plexr device (manufactured in Italy by GMV s.r.l.) generates a focused plasma arc of around one millimetre in diameter at a controlled energy level. When this arc contacts the skin surface, the superficial cells undergo sublimation: they transition directly from solid to gas, contracting the surrounding tissue without transferring heat to deeper layers or adjacent structures. Unlike ablative laser resurfacing or radiofrequency skin tightening, the Plexr plasma arc acts exclusively on the outermost epidermal and papillary dermal layers — the thermal penetration depth is strictly confined, protecting underlying muscle, blood vessels, and nerves. This makes it particularly well-suited to the eyelid region, where the skin is only 0.5–1 mm thick and conventional RF or laser devices carry a higher risk of inadvertent deep tissue injury. At Medest, the primary indication for Plexr is non-surgical upper eyelid blepharoplasty: the device contracts the excess skin that droops over the upper eyelid crease, creating a lifting effect equivalent to several years' worth of age reversal without any incision. The treatment is performed under topical numbing cream applied for 30–45 minutes beforehand — no injections, no needles beyond optional additional local block. The Plexr pen moves systematically across the treatment zone in a dotting pattern, leaving small carbon crust dots (approximately 0.5–1 mm each) at each arc contact point. These crusts are a sign of successful sublimation; they fall off naturally within five to seven days as the underlying regenerated skin matures (a process the clinic describes as "dry healing"). Beyond eyelid lifting, Plexr at Medest is used for wrinkle smoothing around the eyes and mouth, revision of acne and trauma scars, stretch mark improvement, and removal of small benign lesions such as flat warts, syringomas, milia, and xanthelasmas (lipid deposits around the eyes). One to three sessions may be required depending on the degree of laxity or the size of lesions being treated, with sessions spaced six to eight weeks apart. No sutures, no post-operative dressing, and no mandatory time off work — though patients are advised to avoid water contact with the treatment area and heavy sun exposure until the crusts have fully resolved.
