PRP/PRF Therapy

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy at Medest uses a concentrated preparation of the patient's own blood platelets — obtained from a small venous sample drawn at the start of the appointment — to stimulate skin regeneration, improve texture and tone, reduce deep wrinkles, diminish dark circles, and support hair follicle health. Because PRP is derived from your own blood, there is no risk of allergic reaction or rejection. MUDr. Vojtková processes the blood using a centrifuge to isolate the plasma fraction concentrated with growth factors, then injects it precisely into the areas requiring regeneration.
Platelet-rich plasma therapy harnesses the body's own regenerative biology. Platelets are the blood components responsible for healing — they release growth factors including PDGF, TGF-β, VEGF, EGF, and IGF when activated, triggering the proliferation of fibroblasts, keratinocytes, and endothelial cells. In PRP therapy, a venous blood sample of 10–20 ml is drawn from the patient's arm and placed in a centrifuge that separates red blood cells from the plasma layer. A second centrifugation step concentrates the platelets to four to eight times their normal blood concentration. The activated PRP gel is then drawn into fine syringes for injection. At Medest, MUDr. Vojtková uses PRP for several distinct clinical indications. For facial rejuvenation, the concentrated growth factors reduce fine lines, improve skin hydration and radiance, and firm the dermis — patients typically describe the skin as looking plumper and more luminous four to six weeks after treatment as new collagen matures. For under-eye dark circles and hollowness, PRP is injected superficially into the tear trough and periorbital skin, where it thickens the thin skin and reduces the discolouration caused by visible vasculature. For acne and trauma scars, growth factors accelerate dermal remodelling and gradually flatten raised or indented scar tissue over multiple sessions. For hair loss (alopecia), PRP injected into the scalp stimulates dormant follicles and prolongs the anagen (growth) phase — typically applied in the Meso-gun pattern across thinning zones. PRP is also used at Medest as a post-procedure regeneration support following laser treatment or chemical peeling, significantly shortening recovery. Each session takes approximately 60 minutes from blood draw to final injection. A series of two to four sessions spaced four to six weeks apart is standard for most indications; maintenance once every six to twelve months preserves results. Because the material is autologous, no pre-treatment allergy testing is required and the risk profile is determined almost entirely by the injection technique rather than the material itself.
