Cryosurgery uses extreme cold to remove skin lesions such as viral warts and molluscum contagiosum, performed by a surgeon. The lesion is frozen so that the treated tissue is destroyed and falls away as the skin heals. About this treatment

Cryosurgery (cryotherapy) treats skin lesions by applying intense cold to freeze the targeted tissue. The freeze-and-thaw effect destroys the treated cells so that, over the following days, the lesion crusts and gradually separates as healthy skin regenerates beneath.
