Tumescent Liposuction

Tumescent liposuction at Estela uses the established local-anaesthesia tumescent technique to remove stubborn fat from the abdomen, flanks, inner and outer thighs, knees, upper arms, and chin. A tumescent solution is infused into the target tissue, making fat cells easier to remove through a thin cannula while keeping the patient comfortable and alert throughout the procedure. The clinic offers both local and general anaesthesia options, allowing patients to choose based on the number of areas treated and personal preference. A compression garment is fitted before you leave and worn for four to six weeks to support optimal contouring results.

Tumescent liposuction is one of the most refined fat-removal techniques in modern plastic surgery, and Estela's approach centres on this method for its superior safety profile compared to traditional dry or wet liposuction. The tumescent solution — a diluted mixture of local anaesthetic and adrenaline — is infused into the subcutaneous fat layer before any fat is removed. The adrenaline constricts local blood vessels, dramatically reducing bleeding and bruising, while the anaesthetic numbs the area completely. Fat is then aspirated through a thin cannula with millimetre-level control over contour. MUDr. Chaloupková, who holds a specialist plastic surgery qualification, performs the majority of liposuction cases at Estela and is known for natural-looking, symmetrical results. Areas routinely treated include the abdomen and flanks (the most common pairing), inner and outer thighs, the knee area, upper arms, and the submental (chin) region. Each area is quoted separately on the price list so patients can budget precisely — a two-area abdominal and flank session costs CZK 37,000 under local anaesthesia, compared with CZK 51,000 under general. The procedure runs roughly 30 to 40 minutes per area under local anaesthesia. For larger or combined sessions, general anaesthesia is available through St. Anna Faculty Hospital, Brno. After treatment, a custom compression garment is applied immediately and worn 24 hours a day for the first four to six weeks to guide the tissue as it settles. Sutures are removed at days seven to nine. Patients can return to sedentary work within a week and resume strenuous exercise after three to four weeks. Final results become visible at around two to three months as residual swelling subsides. Ideal candidates are adults at or near their target weight who carry localised fat deposits resistant to diet and exercise — liposuction is a contouring tool, not a weight-loss procedure. Contraindications include significant overweight, inability to wear a compression garment, and use of blood-thinning medications. Aspirin, acetaminophen-containing products, and enzymatic supplements should be discontinued three weeks before surgery.
