Microscopic Root Canal Treatment

Microscopic root canal treatment removes infected or damaged tissue from inside a tooth and seals the canals, saving a tooth that would otherwise need extraction. Pricing is per tooth by type — 1,500 zł for an incisor, 1,600 zł for a premolar and 1,800 zł for a molar — and most cases are completed in a single visit.

Root canal treatment, or endodontics, treats the soft tissue (pulp) inside a tooth when it becomes inflamed or infected through deep decay, a crack or trauma. The dentist removes the diseased pulp, cleans and shapes the fine canals inside the roots, disinfects them and seals them to prevent further infection, allowing the natural tooth to be kept rather than extracted. Carrying this out under a microscope improves visibility of the canal anatomy, which can be complex and difficult to treat thoroughly with the naked eye. At Erwin Clinic the procedure is performed under local anaesthetic — the clinic notes computer-controlled local anaesthesia is provided at no charge — and most teeth are completed in one visit, with pricing set by tooth type: incisors 1,500 zł, premolars 1,600 zł and molars 1,800 zł. A separate fee covers preparing a heavily broken-down tooth for treatment, and a temporary canal dressing can be added where a staged approach is needed. After treatment the tooth is often restored with a filling or, for back teeth, a crown to protect it from fracture. Where a previous root canal has failed, the clinic also offers microscopic re-treatment at a higher fee. Saving a tooth this way is associated with preserving normal chewing and avoiding the gap left by extraction; the dentist explains the prognosis and any alternatives beforehand.
