Keeping these deposits under control is associated with healthier gums, fewer cavities and fresher breath, and gives the dentist a clear view to spot any developing problems early. At Erwin Clinic a comprehensive hygiene session is provided by the clinic's qualified hygienist and typically combines ultrasonic scaling to lift tartar, air-flow or polishing to remove soft staining, and a fluoride application to strengthen the enamel. The teeth are left smooth and clean, and the hygienist can advise on brushing and interdental cleaning tailored to the patient. For people with signs of gum disease, deeper cleaning such as root planing beneath the gum line is offered as part of the clinic's periodontology care and is priced separately, from 450 zł per quadrant, sometimes preceded by a periodontal consultation. Most adults benefit from a hygiene visit once or twice a year, or more often if they are prone to tartar build-up or are undergoing implant or orthodontic treatment. The session is comfortable and suitable for routine maintenance as well as a fresh start before cosmetic work.
