Physician referral required under Polish law.
Enel-Med's Warsaw clinic at al. Jana Pawła II 41A delivers CT scanning through the LUX MED Diagnostyka network, which is Poland's largest specialist diagnostic imaging operator — managing more than 70 imaging centres in 21 cities and offering both private-pay and NFZ (national health fund) imaging pathways. A single-region CT at this location covers all standard body areas requested in private diagnostic practice. Head and brain scans are the most common emergency request — the modality is the first-line investigation for acute stroke, traumatic brain injury, intracranial haemorrhage, and suspected brain tumour, delivering results within minutes that guide immediate clinical decisions. Chest CT is the primary investigation for pulmonary nodule characterisation, pleural disease, mediastinal masses, and lung cancer staging, with both standard and high-resolution (HRCT) protocols available. Abdominal CT evaluates the liver, pancreas, kidneys, adrenal glands, spleen, bowel, mesentery, and retroperitoneal lymph nodes in a single acquisition, making it the backbone of abdominal oncology workup and the definitive investigation for acute abdominal pain of uncertain origin. Spinal CT covers the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar-sacral segments with multiplanar reformatting in sagittal, coronal, and axial planes. The scanner's thin-slice volumetric acquisition allows three-dimensional surface rendering of vertebral anatomy, useful for trauma assessment and pre-surgical planning in complex spinal pathology. Joint CT — hip, knee, shoulder, ankle — complements MRI where metallic implants preclude magnetic resonance acquisition or where osseous detail is the clinical priority. The LUX MED patient information leaflet specifies that contrast-enhanced CT requires the patient to fast from solid food for six hours beforehand and from fluids for two hours. A recent serum creatinine result must be brought to confirm renal function before iodinated contrast administration. Patients on thyroid medication should also provide a recent TSH result. Daily medications should be taken as normal. After contrast injection, patients remain under observation at the clinic for approximately 30 minutes. Results are delivered as a written report from a specialist radiologist accompanied by image files on CD; digital retrieval is also available via the LUX MED patient portal. Under Poland's Atomic Law, a physician referral is legally required for all CT examinations — including private-pay bookings. Any doctor in active practice, including a private GP consulted briefly for the purpose, can issue the referral.
