CT angiography of blood vessels at Enel-Med Warsaw (LUX MED Group) — available for cerebral, carotid, aortic, pulmonary, abdominal/pelvic, and lower limb territories. The LUX MED Diagnostyka catalogue lists over eight distinct CT angiography studies. Contrast-enhanced protocol producing detailed 3D reconstructions of arterial and venous anatomy. Physician referral required.
CT angiography (Angio-TK) is one of the most technically demanding CT examinations, requiring precise timing of contrast injection relative to the scanner acquisition window to capture the target vessels at peak enhancement. The LUX MED Diagnostyka services catalogue lists more than eight distinct CT angiography study types, covering all major vascular territories: Cerebral CT angiography ('angio tętnic mózgowych') images the intracranial arteries for aneurysm, arteriovenous malformation, and vasospasm. It is the rapid non-invasive alternative to conventional catheter cerebral angiography in acute and elective settings. Head vessel angiography ('angio głowy') covers the circle of Willis and its principal branches at sub-millimetre spatial resolution. Carotid and neck vessel angiography assesses the extracranial carotid and vertebral arteries for atherosclerotic stenosis, dissection, or fibromuscular dysplasia — information essential for stroke risk stratification and for planning carotid endarterectomy or stenting. The examination is typically combined with intracranial angiography for a complete neurovascular survey. Chest CT angiography ('angio klatki piersiowej') includes pulmonary CT angiography — the diagnostic standard for pulmonary embolism — and thoracic aortic angiography for dissection and aneurysm assessment. Thoracic aortic angiography is also used to plan thoracic endovascular aortic repair (TEVAR) and to monitor aortic diameter in patients with connective tissue disease. Abdominal aorta angiography ('angio aorty brzusznej, pnia trzewnego i tętnic nerkowych') evaluates the abdominal aorta, coeliac trunk, superior and inferior mesenteric arteries, and renal arteries. Renal artery stenosis causing renovascular hypertension and aortoiliac occlusive disease causing claudication are the most common indications. Abdominal and pelvic angiography ('angio jamy brzusznej i miednicy') extends coverage to the iliac arteries. Lower limb angiography ('angio tętnic kończyn dolnych') maps the femoral, popliteal, tibial, and peroneal arteries from the aortic bifurcation to the foot. It is used to grade peripheral arterial disease severity, plan endovascular or bypass revascularisation, and assess post-procedural patency. Preparation for all contrast CT angiography studies includes fasting from solid food for four hours, bringing a recent serum creatinine result, and — for patients on thyroid medication — a recent TSH result. Post-procedure observation for approximately 30 minutes is standard after contrast administration. A physician referral is legally required for all CT under Polish Atomic Law.
