Root canal treatment removes infected or inflamed tissue from inside a tooth, then cleans, shapes and seals the canals so the natural tooth can be kept. At EM Dent endodontics is performed under an operating microscope by dentists with a specific focus on this work, which aids precision in finding and treating the canals. Pricing is set by the number of canals, and re-treatment of previously root-filled teeth is also offered.

About this treatment

Inside every tooth is a soft core of nerve and blood vessels called the pulp. When deep decay, a crack or trauma allows bacteria to reach the pulp it can become inflamed or infected, causing pain or an abscess. Root canal (endodontic) treatment removes this damaged tissue, disinfects and shapes the fine canals inside the roots, and fills them with a sealing material so the tooth can be saved rather than extracted.

At EM Dent endodontic treatment is carried out under an operating microscope, which magnifies and illuminates the inside of the tooth to help the dentist locate the canals — which can be narrow, curved or hard to find — and treat them thoroughly.
