A surgical consultation is a dedicated appointment to assess a tooth or area before extraction, implant or other oral surgery, and to plan the safest approach. At EM Dent the dentist assesses the relevant teeth, gums and surrounding structures and, where useful, uses the clinic's in-house panoramic X-ray or CBCT (3D) imaging to see the position of roots, nerves and bone in detail. The dentist discusses whether surgery is the best option, what it would involve, how many visits may be needed and the likely recovery, and answers your questions. The fee covers the consultation itself; any imaging is charged separately, and the dentist will set out the costs of the proposed treatment so you can make an informed decision.
