Composition (indicative — exact formula is physician-directed)
- High-dose Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) — the cornerstone of IV immune therapy. At plasma concentrations achievable only intravenously (typically 25–50 g per infusion, far above the intestinal saturation limit of ~200 mg oral), vitamin C acts as a pro-oxidant in inflamed and immunologically active cells rather than an antioxidant, generating hydrogen peroxide selectively toxic to virally infected cells. High-dose IV vitamin C also regenerates glutathione, the primary intracellular antioxidant, and supports neutrophil and lymphocyte function.
