Upper eyelid surgery removes excess skin that can obstruct peripheral vision or create a heavy appearance; lower eyelid surgery addresses under-eye bags and hollowing. Sutures are either absorbable or removed at a follow-up visit. Most patients experience swelling and bruising for one to two weeks before results become clearly visible.
