Laser technology is a cornerstone of the Edwin Lim Medical Aesthetic Clinic treatment menu, with multiple platforms available to address a wide spectrum of skin concerns. Treatments are planned around the patient's skin type, Fitzpatrick classification (most Singapore patients fall in types III–V, requiring careful parameter selection to avoid post-inflammatory pigmentation), and specific concerns. The Pico laser delivers ultra-short picosecond pulses that shatter pigment particles into fine fragments easily cleared by the immune system. It is particularly effective for solar lentigines, cafe-au-lait patches, Hori's naevus, and Nevus of Ota, and can be used for multi-colour tattoo removal. The fractional delivery mode stimulates dermal remodelling for general skin rejuvenation. The Spectra Nd:YAG laser's Q-switched mode targets melanin at 1064 nm (deep pigment) and 532 nm (superficial pigment). The carbon spectra peel — sometimes called the Hollywood Peel — involves applying a thin carbon lotion to the face, which is then vaporised by the laser to exfoliate dead skin cells, reduce pore size, and deliver a brightening effect with zero downtime. The Quadrostar Pro Yellow Laser emits at 577 nm, a wavelength selectively absorbed by oxyhaemoglobin, making it the preferred choice for melasma, vascular lesions, and diffuse redness. The eCO2 fractional carbon dioxide laser delivers ablative energy in a fractional pattern, creating microcolumns of controlled injury that stimulate robust collagen remodelling — the most effective laser modality for improving the texture and depth of atrophic acne scars. Two to four sessions are typically recommended for moderate to severe scarring, with a one-week recovery period per session.
