The mini facelift — sometimes called the weekend facelift — at Eden Plastic Surgery Institute is designed for patients in their forties and early fifties who present with early-stage facial ageing: mild to moderate jowl formation, slight skin laxity along the lower face, and early nasolabial fold deepening, without the more advanced SMAS descent or platysmal banding that would require a full facelift. Dr. Charafeddine performs the mini facelift through shorter incisions concentrated in the pre-auricular region, limiting dissection to a smaller tissue plane than the full EVELift® and typically addressing the SMAS at a more conservative level. Because the dissection plane is smaller and tissue undermining is more limited, operative time is reduced and recovery is correspondingly faster — most patients are able to return to social and light professional activities within a few days, earning the procedure its 'weekend facelift' label. Swelling and bruising resolve faster than after a full facelift, and the overall recovery burden is lighter. The mini facelift is not a substitute for a full SMAS facelift in patients with significant facial ageing; Dr. Charafeddine evaluates each patient's degree of tissue descent, skin quality, and anatomical factors at consultation to determine whether the mini facelift or the full EVELift® will produce the best long-term result.
