This comprehensive protocol adds intravenous gadolinium contrast to the whole-spine MRI, enhancing detection of pathology that may be occult on native sequences. The contrast-enhanced study is the gold standard for suspected spinal metastases, epidural abscess, discitis-osteomyelitis, and inflammatory myelopathy where enhancement patterns guide diagnosis and treatment decisions. At 168,000 HUF (approximately EUR 425), this covers the entire vertebral column with both native and post-gadolinium sequences in all three spinal segments. The Siemens Aera's wide bore reduces claustrophobia concerns during the extended scan time of approximately 80-90 minutes. Pre-screening for renal function is performed before contrast administration. The English-language report option (31,000 HUF additional) makes this accessible for international patients who may need to share findings with physicians in their home country.
