A chemical peel uses a controlled application of exfoliating acids to remove the outermost layers of the skin in a measured way, prompting the skin to renew itself. As the treated surface is shed and replaced, tone can look brighter and more even, texture smoother and fine lines softer, while the renewal process is also associated with supporting the skin's own collagen over time. Different acids and strengths suit different concerns, which is why the clinic offers a range of formulations rather than a single peel. Depending on the depth, you may feel mild tingling or warmth, and afterwards the skin can look pink and, with stronger peels, flake or lightly peel over the following days as it renews. Sun protection and gentle aftercare are important during this period. Lighter peels can be repeated as a course for a cumulative effect, while deeper peels are used less frequently.
