Platelet-rich plasma uses a small sample of your own blood, spun to concentrate its platelets and growth factors, which is then injected to support skin repair and rejuvenation. Because it is autologous — derived entirely from you — it is well tolerated and a natural option for improving skin quality, including the delicate area under the eyes and the scalp. The clinic also offers platelet-rich fibrin and PRP combined with meso-cocktails.

PRP (platelet-rich plasma) is a regenerative treatment that uses your own blood's healing components. A small sample is drawn and spun in a centrifuge to separate and concentrate the platelets, which are rich in growth factors associated with tissue repair and collagen production. This concentrated plasma is then injected into the skin, or combined with mesotherapy, to support rejuvenation of tone, texture and firmness. At Dr Skibicka's clinic the process — blood draw, preparation and treatment — takes around forty-five to sixty minutes, with numbing cream applied for comfort. Because the material is entirely your own, there is no risk of allergy to a foreign substance, which makes PRP a popular choice for patients who prefer a natural approach. Expect mild redness or small bruises for a day or two. Results build gradually as collagen remodels over several weeks, so a course of around three sessions spaced four to six weeks apart is recommended, with maintenance once or twice a year. PRP is well suited to dull or tired skin, fine lines and the thin, crêpey skin under the eyes, and is also used on the scalp to support hair quality, reflecting the doctor's trichology focus. The clinic offers platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) and PRP combined with an individualised meso-cocktail or collagen for added effect. Suitability is assessed at consultation; it is not performed in pregnancy or in certain blood or clotting conditions.
