Type
Extraction
Duration
1 hour
Surgical removal of a tooth that has not fully erupted or is trapped in the bone — most commonly an impacted wisdom tooth. The procedure is carried out under local anaesthetic by a dentist experienced in oral surgery, with planning supported by CBCT 3D imaging to assess the tooth's position and nearby structures. Pricing reflects how deeply impacted and difficult the tooth is. Clear aftercare is provided, and PRF can be used to support healing of the site.
When a tooth — typically a lower wisdom tooth — fails to erupt properly and remains partly or fully buried in the gum or bone, it can cause pain, repeated infections, decay of the tooth in front or crowding, and surgical removal becomes the appropriate solution. At Dr Piosik Stomatologia these cases are handled within the practice's oral-surgery service. Before treatment, CBCT 3D imaging is used to map the exact position of the tooth and its roots in relation to nearby structures such as the nerve in the lower jaw or the sinus above the upper teeth, which helps the surgeon plan a safe, efficient procedure and explain the specific considerations for your case. The extraction is carried out under local anaesthetic. The surgeon gently releases the gum, removes bone or divides the tooth as needed to take it out in sections, then cleans the site and places sutures. The cost reflects the difficulty — a partially erupted tooth is generally simpler than one fully retained deep in the bone — which is why the procedure is quoted as a range. To support recovery, the clinic can prepare PRF (platelet-rich fibrin) from your own blood to place in the socket, and a protective dressing is available. You will be given detailed aftercare advice covering swelling, oral hygiene around the area, diet and activity for the first days, along with any review appointment to check healing and remove sutures. Some swelling, stiffness and discomfort for several days is expected after surgical removal and is managed with the measures the clinician recommends. The team will confirm whether removal is advisable for your particular tooth, as not every impacted tooth needs to be taken out.
